Curiouser and Curiouser

This image caught my eye because of the reference to time, but the more I become absorbed in the background, the lighting and shadows, the more it speaks to me. I've tried to locate the artist to no avail. For me, it brings a relevance and sense of the present to what I had always dismissed as a Lewis Carrol's drug-induced euphoria.

Still in the rabbit hole of edits...

  1. The young girl with her stuffed toy sees the dark world of growing up after leaving her childhood of light. Some of the images invoke sadness and peril at the whims of men. She needs to keep a sense of light with her while maturing.

  2. It looks Japanese to me, but the chop looks English/American. I hope you're able to find the artist.

Good luck with the edits. Go, L.A, go!!! Woot!!!

  3. This a great image, L.A. Good luck finding the artist.

I also loved the post on romance heroes from last Friday. You hit the nail on the head.

Hope your Valentine's Day was a good one.

  4. Barbara...it *is* such a strong commentary on the pressures of growing up. Alice's wonderland might have been safer.

Pam...you, too. I want an edit update soon!

Maureen...every time I look at it, another detail comes to the forefront.

walkingman...thanks so much for trying to find out something about it. And, actually, my rabbit hole does have two very different endings. Which one will I choose?
