Dean Koontz wrote a children's Christmas tale. Who knew? A bizarre little foray into an android creation by Santa's much maligned twin brother. And it's the sequel to one published in 2004. Who knew? Guaranteed to delight eight year olds with descriptions of snot and boom-whacka-boom onomatopoeias. It's Dr. Seuss meets War and Peace: a sing-song cadence with unique rhyming words but far, far too long for one digestible sitting by a second grader. The reviews of the original tale, Santa's Twin, were much more favorable, but still question: can novelists be successful poets? If you're a fan, might be worth a look-see.
In honor of all that is spectacular about New Year's Eve, I propose a Vortex list of our favorite screen kisses, television or film. They don't have to be first kisses, but they must be memorable. Santa's Twin was interesting but not that great, I thought. I have a copy of it. I probably won't get the sequel.
One kiss I liked from the movies was when Sarah Conner first kissed Kyle Reese in The Terminator.

as for a novelist writing poetry, easier than a journalist writing a convincing novel :O lol
While I Was Sleeping (loved that one at the end :). I think what makes a great screen kiss is when the viewer cares about both of the characters and knows they've been longing for each other, so when the kiss finally happens, there's a sense of relief mingled with the joy. We've gotten to see their hope fulfilled.
Didn't know about Dean Kootz's children's stories. Will have to take a look...

Barbara...the Ghost one was very memorable. And, I love the sweet innocence of Lady and the Trap. And My Girl when she leans over to kiss him and he gasps, his eyes wide in surprise. Love it!
